Talked to a guy who skied in the direction of that old trail off the backside (towards Barton Mines) . . . If wee get enough snow this year, I'll see if I can get him to show me the way . . .
Matt - theoretically you need a permit or permission from the Bartons, to do the entire route from Gore. The Lodge does part of that route, with permission, ending back at 13th Lake. The more exciting route, in my opinion ends at the river, and it can be done without crossing private land, if you don't start from Gore. Since the Raymond Brook route is now an official DEC trail, it's not a "secret ski" any longer.
