I believe Tesla has been profitable since the release of the model 3. I don't believe that is true, though it certainly has been a huge money machine for them.

For 2024 They made a profit of $10Billion on automative sales, and 2.7Billion on Credits.
Whatever’s causing the lack of knowledgable-experienced folks who work repairing vehicles specifically.
I'd image there’s shortages in other fixit fields to boot.

If reliably built I don't think those EVs require much maintenance, do they?
A buddy has had one of the original Ford Lightings and he loves it. We'll over 100K miles and has only needed tires and nothing else.
Meanwhile the Chinese company BYD is now the global leader for electric vehicle units sold. They vaulted past Tesla last year having explosive growth since 2021.They make really nice vehicles.
I'd wager BYD will be one of the first if not the first to offer EVs with solid state batteries. That's a total game changer when you're talking about batteries that can retain 90% original capacity after decades of use and can go 600 miles on a 10 minute charge.

It's no different than any other blue collar trade. Yes, if a person is talented the income is good. A good tech is most definitely in the 6 figure income level. It takes a while to get there but that's where they'll end up. The issue is it's hard work, dirty, and will beat your body up over time. Most young adults aren't into that kind trade anymore.

Most old farts aren’t into hard, dirty, beat yer body up. work anymore neither unless yer a farmer. Some dairy farm folks have robot milkers and/or feeders now.
Then there’s the Amish...

So true. The fact that dairy farming has gone corporate in CNY makes me sad.
The days of small generational dairy farming is all but gone.
