Gonna be the sendoff weekend for Jessie Diggins, 'Murrica's most decorated cross-country skier. Whether you're watching the TV or ya come to Lake Placid, you...

    Olympic [Winter] Sports

What do you do after working 50 hours reporting on cross country skiing national championships? Go back to Mt van Ho and volunteer at the bobsled races. On Sunday, I volunteered at the Noram bobsled and skeleton competition. Olympic start spots were on the line. Not knowing any better, I...

    Games of Some Olympiad

Whoa. I volunteered at the bobsled / skeleton competition on Sunday. Worked at the start as a credential checker. I arrived in the afternoon, after the skeleton athletes had gone down. Chatted with a couple of officials, they didn't say anything about this.

That uphill running technique originated with Norway's Johannes Høsflot Klæbo. It's not graceful, but it works. Technique evolves over time, eh? Thank you for your kind words. Nordic Insights at least pays, where my previous place didn't.

    The Future of NYSkiBlog

    Gore Mountain Conditions

The proposal for the consultant was tabled. In practice, IF it were to be approved, then ORDA would send out requests for proposal. That's the way it's supposed to work, anyway. Maybe they've already talked to someone? Who knows. I'm against the idea of a consultant, having worked at one...

    Any Day, Any Race

My editor is going to the Olympics, it's the first year that they gave him one (1) stinkin' credential. If I'm on this mortal coil 4 years down the road and he wants me to go with him, I'm so there. Also, reading through the FasterSkier articles on nationals. <snark>They definitely weren't...
