Clocking in at a cool $138 each (before tax, too). For reference, the two I got this season were $108 each after tax, and $94 the year before.

Hitting WF with the HS ski club kids on Saturday. Hoping it softens up a bit before then because we’re definitely going.

The Hudson chair feels painfully slow, which indeed keeps me and the boys from spending more time in the bowl. Agreed that 46er doesn’t seem nearly as steep as Lies - my 8 y/o and I skied it a few weeks back for his first double diamond without any concern, but he’s definitely not ready for Lies.

I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I shared a chair earlier this season with a patroller at Gore who has a place up at WF - told me that they can’t pull from the creek/river after Presidents Day week. This could easily be debunked by anybody who skis there regularly and has seen the guns...

It was groomed today

Not just there, too. Skied on every lift except the tram at Jay for the Monday holiday, then the same at Bolton yesterday. I know VT school kids aren’t on break this week, but the crowds were much more formidable the same days last year. Perhaps the cold weather kept people away.

I showed up late to the party after a couple of hours at Hickory on my way north, but it was pretty fantastic. The most crowding I saw was in the Saddle Lodge when I decided to drink my lunch. Cold as shit, but I looked at it as “warming” me up for a frigid day at Jay tomorrow.

From tonight’s update: “Black Line Quad passed its load test on Tuesday. And Saturday it passed State Inspection. Scheduled to open to passholders first on Monday!” Crossing my fingers for Magic - hope they get on a good winning streak here.

Just noticed this in the snow report: “Black Line Quad passed its load test on Tuesday, a critical step, and now will be state inspected this coming Saturday 2/17.”
