SkiSkan Conditions

Drove by Sunday and the hill was open with man made snow on the bunny hill and Thruway. I skied here a lot as a teen and really enjoyed it. It may be less than 400 of vertical but it's got a nice fall line and a couple of difficult trails, but it is mostly intermediate terrain. One T bar, a rope tow and one handle tow for beginners. They may be the smallest area on the Indie Pass.

The runs looked nice, thick and white when I went by a couple weeks ago.
Looked like they have some HKD's ❄️.

Posted this pic from Wednesday in Harv’s places to ski in NY thread but it goes here too.

There’s plenty of snow now.

I always wondered why it's Skaneateles and not Otisco Ski Club (with the Otisco Rod and Gun Club next door).

I had a blast running laps laps over a couple of hours before the rain came back. I left early due to the rain at about 2:30.

The rain this week melted the natural snow. Nevertheless, Thruway and the Bunny Slope are deeply covered and well groomed.

The lack of natural snow allowed work to continue on (the last stages of) the project to expand snowmaking. I overheard that the new snowmaker line should be running in a couple of weeks. I don't know anything, like how many additional acres of terrain they are covering, but it looks like it will be a very significant increase.
