I can't handle the Olympics on TV. The actual Olympics are good, but the coverage is over the top.

Whoa. I volunteered at the bobsled / skeleton competition on Sunday. Worked at the start as a credential checker. I arrived in the afternoon, after the skeleton athletes had gone down. Chatted with a couple of officials, they didn't say anything about this.
