If you really wanted to keep skiing. I came down from the summit at 1:30 and everything was glazing over. Was not a fun trip down to the Ski Bowl base with the thick crust that was setting up.

Great day today. Started on the lower mountain at 8:15 with a couple pristine groomed showcases before heading up top. Lies was great and warranted a re-run. Then Double barrel to under the chair, Chatemac, Straightbrook glades. All great. Over to Topridge for high pine and Cave glades which...

Absolutely epic day. Started on 46er maybe 6th chair up with an untracked line despite the hoards of powder hounds descending on it. Bliss. Next run JJs to Moxham. Also mostly untracked. Over to BR. Scored a mostly untracked run down Sagamore. Then saw a snowboarder take the rope out on Boreas...

I would think it's gotta be incredible at Ellen right now. I was there in Mid January and it was already stellar with everything open and they've gotten so much more snow since then.

BennyMikes on Instagram skied the slides earlier this week I assume from the road and posted and they absolutely look ready. They consistently open next week and I'm tempted to burn a day or two of PTO to get after them.

Aside from the sad accident, Conditions were great today. Rumor opened and in usual opening day fashion was nice chalky manmade and the clear ROTD. Made many laps. Also great (though no bad runs to be found) were Double Barrel, Upper Darby to Darby Woods, McIntyre and the Dark Side Glades...

Anyone been up since Monday? Curious how things are skiing after the bit of niar Monday and today's snow. Debating between Gore and WF for the weekend. Looks like more snow for Gore Sunday...but WF is going to get some upslope that Gore won't tomorrow.

I did yesterday and it was OK. Very skied in and a little thin but doable. Surprisingly the lower part was open and that wasn't it's usual rock garden. As for today I didn't venture beyond the main mountain.

I wanted to go again this weekend but the hotels being booked up due to the carnival in SLK put a kabosh on that. Gore was very good today, but not as great as Whiteface had been skiing last couple weeks.

Agree good conditions today and busy too. Lots of good runs but ROTDs in no particular order were chatty glades, upper steilhang, the dark side woods and liftline, darby woods, tahawus glades (the pick) straightbrook liftline from hawkeye. Not ROTD but still good were topridge, open pit early...

I had heard many NJ schools had it off too but anecdotal.
