    Winter Weather 2024/25

When the North Atlantic stops circulating there's supposed to be a mini ice-age in the northern hemisphere, or at least in Europe. Maybe we are there.

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

We took a family road trip up to the Cats this past weekend and took both cars, including the Tesla. The Platty chargers were huge. They aren't full level 2 as they are limited to 30 amps, but between the Platty chargers, trickle charging at the airbnb, and a few hours charging in Fleischmans...

    Killington Conditions

Killy used to run any lift as long as there was some fast grass. What happened?

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

I have used those chargers and have gotten 30+ miles / hour. It's not the price, it's the battery size vs range. The model Y LR has a 80 kwh battery and 310 miles of range. So ~ 3.88 miles/kwh The longest range Rivian has a 149 kwh battery and a range of 410 miles. So ~2.75 miles/kwh...

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

P.S. Just saying, not hating. If I were willing to spend 100k I'd strongly be considering an R1s or a Gravity with their 410-450 mile ranges and 3rd row

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

Those are more for destination charging then fast charging. i.e. Charge up while you are doing whatever it is you drove there to do. In my limited experience using them they charged at a reasonable rate, but I'm also not driving a 100+kwh Bradley tank

Being stuck in Jerze with two little kids I'd happily take a classic East Coast Icecoaster day.

Magic Carpets: The Most Dangerous Ski Lift on the Mountain?

Pretty sure I rode these same chairs at Grand Targhee, not sure if they are still there.

Was wondering that too, that's a long walk uphill. Never rode the triple but the line didn't seem that bad. The lodge was bursting at the seems though Photo of the last car. That you @DomB ?

    Park City Ski Patrol Strike

Vail should have at least paid the patrollers what they wanted during the holiday break to stop the strike, and then (right or wrong) picked the fight in January. Yeah ski resorts can't control nature, I don't blame Whistler for the worst ski trip I ever took because there was no snow, but this...

Magic Carpets: The Most Dangerous Ski Lift on the Mountain?

I'm starting to get my 4 year old on skis and have been riding the Magic Carpet Ski Lift for perhaps the first time in my life. Did either Sterling Forest or Vernon Valley have them in the late 80s? I feel like there were rope tows and very short chairlifts to access the learning areas? I...
