Yeah I'm also surprised there are no covered hitch racks, a hitch box if you will. I used FSD to do most of the driving home yesterday, I would think a rear hitch might interfere as well

You'd think someone would invent some more aerodynamic cargo boxes....

@DomB how much of a hit do you take with the rack on the roof? With and without skis? Also how do you keep them clean up there?

    Plattekill Conditions

Nice busy day, cars were parked all the way down to the first house on the access road. Trees were still fun though I put a core shot in my Kores. While I wait on the repair I might pick up another 2025 pair anyway, since Head completely changed them for the new 2026 model year. Sidenote...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

In a warming world ski resorts need to have the capacity to pump it out when they can. They can't rely on weeks of cold to slowly get things open. Given the consistent cold we've had it's disappointing to see barren slopes, especially at places much much smaller than Gore.

They should at least have put a 3/4 station at the start of the "run up" to make laps faster

    Shawnee Conditions

Surprisingly soft conditions on the WRODs given the downpour yesterday

    Belleayre Conditions

Yeah, but it was early season. I also think the demand is probably higher at Belle because it's a perfect 2 - 3 hour distance from major population centers. If you're driving up to Whiteface you're probably going to stay over in LP and charge their before you get to the mountain

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

I'm PHEV skeptical, but EREV curious. If pivoting to EREVs gets more people driving more miles on electric I'm for it.

Yeah he said something to the effect of "humans drive without shooting lasers out of their eyeballs". Fair point

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

We're living in a new world where cars are more like phones, it's not just horespower and the number of CDs it can hold anymore. As much as I like FSD I'm skeptical Tesla will get to full Unsupervised on the current HW4. My HW4 doesn't even have the front bumper camera that newer HW4's have...
