ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

Every year I take my Alltrack to the stealership for routine service, and it's $700 minimum. Regardless of the miles driven. Once the car starts getting older then it's endless belts, chains, sensors, fluids etc... I was only estimating about $1300 in gas savings actually. If you charge off...

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

I got the $7500 federal tax credit and paid no sales tax in Jersey, so that was about $10K right off the price for me. Then you save about $2k/year in gas and maintenance. Depending on what you are comparing an EV may end up being cheaper in the long run.

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

In the website they have some inspo designs. I do think it would be great as an open air beach buggy, or a small business transport

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

Yeah that's my question. Bolting on parts after the fact won't be as nice as something that was designed for it from the ground up. For example a tablet that isn't integrated into the car's functionality, or two speakers in the front only. How would the AC even work for the SUV extension? I...

I think it is sold here as the Escape Plug-In Hybrid.

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

Even aside from needing electricity, with my old POS Escape the gas pump did not always work. The pump would constantly turn off, and it would be difficult to get a full tank. I believe it had something to do with cold temperatures and back pressure due to poor tank ventilation.

    ORDA Funding

There would have to be a large parking lot or garage to support people parking in NC and taking the lift to access the mountain

    Belleayre Conditions

The morning wasn't so great but might have cleared after I left. They still have a lot of snow on the upper mountain trails.

Ahh didn't realize you were leaving all together, I thought you meant for the night.

    Belleayre Conditions

Thought I was done for the year but might be able to get up this weekend. What's still left? Any bumps on Yahoo, Belle Run, or that other one near it? (can't remember the name)

HVAC: What's best for cold climates?

Everything I've read and have been told by HVAC installers is to set it and forget it. They are most efficient maintaining a temperature verse trying to bring it up. That being said if it's going to get down into the 20s or 30s over night while you are sleeping and then pop back into the 50s...

HVAC: What's best for cold climates?

My compressors are all on mounts attached to the foundation of the house FWIW. When I installed my last project they initially put it on some janky stand and I made them do the mount.

    Spring Weather 2025

What trail were those bumps on? Blue is like 90 minutes from me but I never go because it's so damn crowded, I've never thought of spring skiing there TBF

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

I got a loaner model Y from Tesla with the "acceleration boost" upgrade, holy moly. 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, sucker was fast AF. I'd consider paying for it but then you lose standard mode. I can't have the nanny driving the kids around like she's at the track

    Spring Weather 2025

Blue and Camelback are still open with a few trails believe it or not if you want to ski in shorts tomorrow. Part of me wants to bring my kid but I think were done. It will be too crazy plus he falls so it won't be fun for him.
