    West Mountain Conditions

I forgive them.... The base camera is now working. Now you can eye test the conditions for yourself. You can see a carpet of packed snow on The Face trail... The south Face (left side) with race poles in place? I thought last year the camera panned to show Tube park & lift lines? My memory is...

    West Mountain Conditions

Looks like their base camera may be back online... that will help. Before you defend them you might want to visit their trail conditions page... the one that lists "see on-site" as their definition of conditions?

    West Mountain Conditions

From emails, I know they are open. Fortunately I do live close enough I could drive over , 30 minutes there another 30 minutes back. Or better yet, they could update their true conditions or their base camera. I WANT to support the little guys but sometimes they make it hard.

    West Mountain Conditions

Would be very helpful if West would post conditions... Site lists trails then says "open December 23" then for conditions says "see on site"? So i go to the base camera.... It has not been working for over a week now. So do I really want to drive there in the rain 'hoping' for snow cover...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Any guess what the magic "Sold Out" number is ? I imagine it fluctuates based on trails open and lifts running... Current conditions maybe 1800? Higher? Lower? Thanks to the joys of retirement (17 years now) I can wait for better conditions and smaller crowds.

No intention of being the interfering , helicopter mom. But I doubt the instructor wants to send out a search team looking for "a mom in red coat with a white helmet" when he gets stubborn or crashes into the safety net. I just thought there might be a "mom or dad" type ticket when you know the...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Yeah, it was a lesson alright. Break downs do happen... and they did eventually make it right, kind of. Each time I have been there I have watched the beginner lessons. They do a nice job. That is one of the reasons I suggested our daughter take our grandson there for a lesson. But buying a full...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

I received a Snow Guarantee for Friday when the Bear Cub Quad was down. First person I spoke to said it was only waiting for snow making to stop then would run? Second told me it was running? A third told me they could not get it to start? Finally got to the person who offered Snow Guarantee. I...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Any one else aware of the cameras? Totally news to me? Back to skiing.... I have had a terrible start to this year's season. I am on 'new to me' skis, wearing new boots and just plain have lost all confidence after two days of crashes. Before I make a third trek to Gore can someone offer an...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Can I assume there are no road closure issues getting to the mountain? I would be coming from the south thru Warrensburg.

    Gore Mountain Conditions

I was surprised they did not take a second day to evaluate (and repair?) the damage before reopening. Then again I would suspect the majority of riders would be local pass holders. Really not sure I would risk a 2 hour or longer trip to any mountain in the Northeast for a few more days.

    Gore Mountain Conditions

I appreciate the "it ain't the skis" comments. I understand I need to rebuild what skills I have left. That will be plan A. I replied on SkiTalk (in a pleasant way) that I was not about to start chasing equipment as a way of improving. I golf and know many who chase new equipment every year. The...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

"Finish your turns"... I wish. I also post on Skitalk and they are all over me for skiing on weak, short skis. They are saying my 163cm Rossignol Pursuit 200 (2019) skis are simply not right for a 5'11" 205 pound guy... even an old guy like me. Yet, 2 ski shops locally still say the length is...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Bellerye would be a trek for me. Royal Mountain has been suggested as an option with a beginner area. Oak Mountain is near Gore but I know nothing about it. Locally West Mt will offer some mid week skiing probably by the first week in January. They did a 'soft' opening this weekend. They posted...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

I sometimes have mixed feelings about Gore. But it sure is nice to have a mountain you can depend upon to have skiing and boarding weeks before the holiday crunch! And the Frequent Skier card for long retired guys like myself is quite the amazing value. Mid Week whole mountain for $25, wow...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

My confidence and skill level are quite low after the loose boot fiasco last Saturday. So I am hoping Gore opens the conveyors at the bottom of the mountain on Friday. Probably no kid or adult lesson scheduled so they might leave it closed? I want to check out new boots, build some confidence...

I might beat Santa to it.... I was originally looking at Alpina X5... rented wrong size BUT was the 60 Flex also too soft ? I now am considering Dabello Veloce 75 Max a size smaller Or even the same model (?) MX 75 from last year. Have not skied them but did get to try them on at local shop.

    Gore Mountain Conditions

I was there as well. It has been a while since I was last there. Lodge improvements were helpful. Love the multiple wire racks to store bags. Huge improvement over having bags stuffed on and under tables, etc like many other resorts. There were certainly people there so the demand is great for...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

I'm selfishly hoping they open up some of that promised easier terrain Friday. Fingers-crossed. Saturday looks okay but I'm an hour south and our forecast is for a 60 degrees day on Sunday! Speaking of 'easier' which trail off Sunway would get me down to Gondola easiest? Quicksilver or 3b ? So...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

From the base cam you can see two lifts running and people skiing and boarding. But you can see the snow is thinning at the base. No evidence of snow coming down, maybe rain? Hopefully someone actual there will give a quick up late at lunch? After my 20 year layoff I really wanted some of the...
