Killington is beautifully empty, too… soft turns for miles, and just had some sun to boot.

Maple Ski Ridge is closing after this weekend. Just saw it on their website.

Conditions were fantastic yesterday, should be great again today.

They close multiple trails for race training on a pretty regular basis, but in my experience it hasn’t affected the NW side until this year. I got skunked last week, too. Normally the move for me is to park over there and walk straight on the lift 30 feet away.

Would this be a good time to apologize in advance for bringing 40 high schoolers up to romp in the promised land? To be fair, that’s most likely the main source of my concern. Glad to hear that the crowds are manageable on a non-holiday weekend, though.

Pretty predictable conditions today; scraped off trails with some edgeable stuff on the sides. Race trails were better, for sure. Hope to see them open up more soon and that the incoming warm weather doesn’t delay that…

Great day with the boys after a morning hockey game, which meant an 11:30 arrival for us. Managed to find a “spot” by the ops building without much trouble and then off we went to meet up with some friends. Conditions were overall quite excellent, in my opinion, with just a handful of icy spots...

Looks like snowmaking temps will return Thursday or so from what I’ve seen. Thumbs down for these short windows, though.

I dream about getting back up to Whistler as an adult. Having driven from Seattle to Alaska in ‘05 has me confident in saying that British Columbia is probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to.

I was just looking at their lift ticket window rates, and noticed that they publish an early/late season rate online. Perhaps if they offered the discount from those prices during the actual early/late season it would make more sense to me.

I can’t argue with the guaranteed access, especially if you don’t know in advance when your days may fall. I just don’t like the economics of this year’s FSC. At least with a blackout-free ticket to redeem it paid for itself before. Saving $5 here and $10 there is only worth it to me if you go...
