    Tales from the Hinterlands, 2020-2021

Next up today I visited SBR for a ski to Secret Hill.. the snow was friggen deep and everything I knew it would be. We managed one beauty run, set a skin track back up, and as I looked down to my skis to step out to de-skin, there it was. Telemark binder fail. I should add that I ensured...

    Tales from the Hinterlands, 2020-2021

Well today was off the stoke meter... Jeff the Mann and I hit Limberlost as the “rope dropped”, so to speak. Dumb fun. I’ll let the pics do the talking.

Ski ya tomorrow aft SBR. BTW, Ima hitting up Limberlost first thing as soon as the rope drops with Mr Mann. Hoping there’s some dregs left over there, though I’m thinking it will be sloppy seconds. No matter, as I know Colline Terces will be primo best day ever.

Well if SBR can’t post a recent pic of his infamous chair, then I’ll have to share a pic of our mailbox from this afternoon. We went XC skiing first thing this morning, and drove out of our driveway through about 10cm (4”) of fresh - skiing always comes first before snow removal. We got home...

So this just showed up at our place. Ethan wanted a long track off trail sled, so he got one.. I’m thinking he gets his quiver acquisition tendencies from me.

Another meadowskipping yesterday aft, I think I’m suffering from total FOMO. That’s what happens when one skis 25 out of 31 days in January.. the bar is set so friggen’ high now since I’ve been doing the Covid work at home deal. I can ski everyday after work instead of commuting, especially...

    Tales from the Hinterlands, 2020-2021

There’s been Hoksters (like hipster slowshoers) our on our local golf course that we ski on, they seem pretty gung-ho on straightlining every slope, I suspect they have a limiting snow depth in which they can actually slide fast enough to be able to turn, or even make it all the way down a hill...

    Tales from the Hinterlands, 2020-2021

No intention of retiring, just going to take a few months off a year in the Winter, probably Jan-February to start. Ramp it up to 4 months off in 4 or 5 years. We owe nothing, nada, zip. So it’s a pretty easy transition to living on less.

    Tales from the Hinterlands, 2020-2021

My kids are grown and on their own doing fine, my wife is a retired teacher with a good pension (and works part time doing online tutoring). As for me, I’m going to start taking time off in the winter from my job to travel and hang out/live in different locales around the world. Putting the CPP...

Another late afternoon after work ski happened today, yet more meadowskipping.. ...just because. Best of all, it started puking for an all too brief hour. If nothing else, it made for a lovely ambiance.
