Not so great today. It looked great but you could hear every skier scraping showcase on our first chair ride at 8:40. Sunway, headwaters, wood lots and cloud had the best snow. They ended up closing lies. Weather for tonight isn’t as bad as previously forecast so hopefully tomorrow is better. Tom

Backwoods and everything I skied was awesome today. But as many readers won’t be happy if I don’t complain, I did find a small ice patch on twister. Tom

I skied oak on 1/1/26 with my granddaughter. Trails were in good shape and crowds were light. The whole process was very pleasant. We arrived late, 9:45, but we still parked close to the lodge. No lines to get tickets or rentals. Light crowds were great for a nervous novice. Tom

In past years, I recall gore getting sunway to quick silver and showcase open and then moving to top ridge and the summit. It’s mid December and the whole lower mountain is open. Given the cold December this might have been the right call. Tom

I don’t blame you for wanting to avoid the weekends, but if you ski early you can get 1.5-2 hours on bear cub without much crowds. Then between 12 and 1 there are no kids lessons so the area will again be pretty empty. I have suggested a fence to keep the bear cub area separate from the main...

Agreed. It would be more meaningful to have votes limited to people within a certain distance of Mt Ho. Why should people in buffalo or Long Island be voting on this. I can see a state wide vote for a major constitutional question Tom

The draw in the summer are the lakes. Why stay in north creek when you can rent a cabin on a lake for a week? Years ago gore would work with local lodging to create ski and stay packages. I don’t see much of that. Why not offer 50% off lift tickets for people that stay in local motels midweek? Tom

Maybe a little off topic but I was up a week ago to check out foliage and the only place open for dinner in north creek was becks. Becks is fine but that means no where to eat Monday-Thursday. Barking spider will be an option when tge cook recovers. This is a sad situation in my opinion Tom

Tragic. There cannot be a happy ending to this story. Think of the pressure on the liftee making $15.00/hr. Watch the folks waiting to advance to the chair, watch the people loading, check the restraining bar, checking that all have their backs against the chair. Repeat … Tom

What better way to get the pols to ante up for the sewage system? Likely the cost for sewage plus lodge was too high to get approved. I watched this movie many times in private industry. Its not efficient or very ethical, but it gets the project done. Tom
