Any Day, Any Race

Verily, a historic day. US men and women win both races today in the Tour de Ski.

DIGGINS. Any day, any f'n race. Diggins wins the women's 5 km mass start heat race. It's not even close. She may be retiring at the end of the season, but she ain't mailing it in. As well as leading the Tour de Ski, Diggins is the overall world cup leader.

So much winning. Today's stage of the Tour de Ski was a 20 km classic technique pursuit start. Skiers start based on their overall position in the Tour.

As the women's TdS leader, Diggins went out first, and put time into her competitors. Like I said yesterday, she ain't mailing it in. On the men's side, Gus Schumacher was 6th.

Diggins finishes second on the Alpe Cermis. Skiing up a dang alpine bump with an average grade of 28%. She wins the 2026 Tour de Ski. There's enough points with this win that, unless she's injured, she'll win the overall World Cup.

For those who might be interested, here's a link for live streaming the cross country national championships here in Lake Placid. The skate sprint will be on Tuesday; 20 km mass start skate on Thursday; classic sprint Friday. Sorry I couldn't share this earlier, I was too busy covering the 10 km race.
