NYSB Site Issues

I think I resolved many of the issues from the people who have emailed me.

I'll give a more full explanation after I return from Gore.

NYSB went down because some bot was hammering the site. A succession of quick visits that overwhelms our hosting.

(You can upgrade your hosting, but there is nothing that says the bot can't exceed anything you can buy.)

I called my host and they recommended blocking 20 IPs. Looks like they just picked the top 20 because some of y'all got blocked too.

I learned how to look into the traffic and see where hits are coming from. The attack was from several IPs in San Francisco. I removed everything we were blocking in NY and NJ.

If a bot attack came from like Syracuse, not sure how I would handle.

XF had released a new version and I didn't install it right away. Sometimes it's good to leave a few days, sometimes not I guess.

If ya ache from skiing, some folks say when ya ache after exercise it’s just the weakness coming outta ya.
