The Horse Thread

Well, to be fair, they generally weigh over 800 pounds, have the IQ of a 4 yr old, the communication skills of a 2 yr old and are pretty well armed with hooves and teeth. Horse explosions are rare but if you see one you’ll remember it forever.
I'm neighbors with a farmer, and he has a few horses. I don't know anything about them other than, at times, they'll get riled up over something, and holy frig. Will they make some noise!

I read some place recently that a horse’s electromagnetic field is several times larger and more powerful than a human’s and that this somehow explains the therapeutic effects of being around horses.

Didn’t horses help invent horse shoe magnets?

It has been the year of the horse for me for a very long time. The other day, I figured out that I have been doing daily chores for at least one horse since 1992. At one point, I was trading part board for doing stalls for 15 horses. I was eating Big Macs and not gaining weight. Now, it's just Draco, (mine), Josie (a companion horse that I adopted and adore), and the farm owner's son's horse. I get a few days a year to sleep in. Sometimes, I get tired of the cold, the heat, the rain, the bugs. You name it. But it is so worth it.

Not as big of chores with dogs and a dog can hang in the house. In Sud Tyrol folks kept their farm animals under the house where they could just walk outside.
But it is so worth it.
For sure.
