Any Day, Any Race

Those athletes kick ass but man, that course is lame. Why are they messing around doing short laps on the lower slopes? Skimo should go to the TOP of the mountain, first person down wins. I hope they make an interesting course for the Olympics, not that.
The article mentions dual moguls making a debut. That will be wild to watch.
Yup.
It’s a start.
Maybe 2030 folks’ll go to the top in an Oli race.

Rubbin' is racin', just like NASCAR. The cross country World Cup circus just finished a weekend in Davos Switzerland. Icy, 120-degree right hand corner leading to the finish was a real problem. Check the mad recovery the second skier makes, about 5 seconds in. Johannes Høsflot Klæbo. Brilliant athlete.

Looks like the surf mighta been up on the gravity waves in Davos that race.

I'm working on an article about nordic combined, and I found this video by national team noco skier Annika Malacinski. She's currently sitting 15th overall in the World Cup; teammate Alexa Brabec is 4th (!!) overall woman in World Cup standings.

Winner of the blue balls coulda got ya a trip to the Olympics.

Meanwhile in Toblach, Italy, Jessie Diggins takes 3d place in the second stage of the Tour de Ski, a 10 km classic technique race. Classic is not her strong suit; this is a really good result. Good enough to put her into the overall lead of the Tour. She goes full send every race.

Fun fact about Toblach. The sprint race loop includes a climb over the roof of the f'n lodge.

Hot off the press, Gus Schumacher wins stage 3 of the Tour de Ski, his second career win. Today was a whacked-out format, a 5 km mass start done in 4 heats. Having 80 guys on the track in one go would have probably resulted in carnage.

At around 30 seconds, you can see skiers going over the roof of the lodge. Schumacher's in the second heat, in bib 10. Takes the win at approximately 3 minutes.
